Nesb Sports Team Information
  1. Coaches will not be announced until tryouts
  2. We will have a total of 6-8 tournaments scheduled from March-June, these will be either AAU or AFBE tournaments, season runs March-June. Schedule for tournaments will be provided by the second week of practice.
  3. Although we do our best to adhere to the schedule, there are times when practices may need to be cancelled or tournaments may need to change. You will be contacted either via email, text or both. 
  4. Depending on the age group, may have 1-2 overnight tournaments which will require an overnight stay (travel costs not included in AAU fees) and the other tournaments will not be farther than 2 hours away from Reading.
  5. We will have 1-2 90-minute practices per week.
  6. Total price will range from $650-$750 (dependent on tournament choice) and this will include: tournaments fees, gym rental for practices, liability insurance, 2 uniforms (1 home, 1 away), equipment, personal instruction from Tyrone Nesby and administrative costs. 
  7. Not included in price is individual AAU membership for each player ($14.00) per season, required to participate in AAU tournaments and practices. This must be purchased before participating in practices and/or tournaments.
  8. We also require purchase of a practice jersey which is required at all practices and scrimmages. If you have been a member of our team and already have one, you do not have to purchase a new jersey.
  9. We will have fundraisers, including the possibility of hosting our own tournament, we expect parent volunteers to help.
Parent/Guardian and Player Rules and Regulations
  1. It is the discretion of the coaches whether to have open or closed practices. Closed practices are when no one but players and coaches may be present in the gym.
  2. Parents are not allowed to coach from the sidelines. This causes confusion for the players. If you are causing a commotion from the crowd, this is in violation of our rules and may result in a decision to dismiss your child from the team.
  3. No arguing with referees.
  4. If you have an issue with the coach, first call and set up a meeting with the coach to be scheduled before and after practice. Do not interrupt practices or games if you are upset, we want to keep our organization professional. If you do not come to an agreement, then next contact the team administrator to set up a mutual meeting with Nesb Sports administration. If a parent/guardian disrespects any member of the organization (coaches, staff, volunteers, players, parents) this may result in a dismissal of your child from the organization. Issues will be dealt with on a case by case basis by the president of the organization.
  5. Nesb Sports is dedicated to helping kids improve in basketball. There is no guarantee of playing time. Playing time is determined by performance in practices and tournaments.
    If the player uses profanity towards other players, coaches, referees, fans, etc. during practices or tournaments, it is an automatic termination from the team. If the player shows any type of violent behavior or commits and violent act, they are automatically terminated from the team and are banned from future membership or participation with Nesb Sports.
  6. Players must maintain a 2.5 GPA to play on the team, proof must be shown at tryouts.
  7. NO Refunds
  8. 50% payment required once your child makes the team, the remaining 50% balance due at least a week before the first tournament (schedule subject to change and TBA).
  9. Each team will have at least 1 parent administrator. The administrator is the team's contact between Nesb Sports administration and the parents. The administrator's duties may include update the team with important updates including but not limited to: schedule changes or cancellations, plans for road trips, volunteers needed, etc.They will also help with communication on road trips.
  10. Each player must have a signed liability waiver in order to participate, it will be signed at tryouts and be good for the entire season. This form releases liability of Nesb Sports for any injuries that could occur during practices and tournaments. Parents must disclose any medical problems and or medications their child is taking.
  11. Your child is being selected to be a part of our organization, you and your child are making a commitment. Once your child makes one of our teams, they CANNOT play for another AAU team while playing with Nesb Sports. The schedule is provided for all tournaments in advance, please review and plan accordingly. We will only allow 2 scheduled absences total, from a game or practice. We also expect players to arrive on time to practices and tournaments. If a player is more than 15 minutes late to a practice or game without prior knowledge and cannot provide an acceptable excuse, it will be considered an unexcused absence. An excused absence must either be prearranged (with the coach) or be accompanied by a medical excuse. We only want the most committed individuals. If excessive unexcused absences become an issue, the coach has the right to terminate your child from the team. Extreme cases will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

We will participate in AFBE and AAU Tournaments.
